THOMAS ALLEN, INC.

Dear Karla:

I am writing this heartfelt "thank you" letter on behalf of our staff here at Thomas Allen, Inc. It has been seven years since you first began infiltrating your off beat humor, slap-stick antics, and overall fun-filled attitude.

Over the years, you have been our only speaker who was asked back repeatedly. Sometimes the names have been quite humorous: "Bring back that cheerleader…Try to have the woman with no hair back every year…We need more in-services like the one with that woman from Iowa…The best in-service we had was the 'Humor' one with that funny lady - I think her name was Karen."
Our industry is one where we constantly expect employees to go consistently above the call of duty. Unfortunately what we have to offer them is long hours, low pay, and a stressful work environment.

When I first saw your presentation, I knew you were destined for greatness. Some people measure greatness with money, some with fame or notoriety and still others - like myself measure greatness with how many people's lives we touch and whether or not our lives make a difference. In my opinion, the highest compliment I could pay a person is that you Karla - do make a difference!

We anticipate your arrival weeks before you come and we talk about you even longer after you have left our premises. Sincere thanks for coming to our agency and touching our most important resource - our direct support staff.
Good luck in the future and I hope you keep coming back to our agency!

With the Utmost Respect and Admiration - Sincerely,

Terilyn Malone, Director of Training

WOMAN PHYSICIANS’ RETREAT

Dear Karla,

Thank you for two outstanding humor presentations at last week's WOMEN PHYSICIANS' RETREAT. Your presentations were wonderful, Karla. Having you with us both days was like a present tied with a bow - your presence wrapped the full event with a perfect closing and helped make the retreat even more memorable & inspiring!

It was a pleasure to meet and work with you, Karla! Your book to us for the physician raffle was also perfect - how gracious of you! I believe that you made an impact on the life of each physician present. What greater reward can there be???

Our warmest wishes,

Barbara Greene and Suzanne Sem

ROTARY INTERNATIONAL

Dear Karla,

Our 1999 District Rotary Conference turned out to be a great event. At least in my opinion. It took many Rotarians to make it a success and you were one of them.

Thanks much for your part in presenting the breakout session, If You’re Too Busy to Laugh, You’re Too Busy. I was given many positive comments about your presentation. Really, you made a big impact on many Rotarians and their guests.

Thanks for your cooperation and support. It is very much appreciated.

Sincerely,

MINNEAPOLIS PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Dear Karla,

Many, many thanks for the wonderful job you did at our Title I Contact Teachers Meeting last Wednesday, May 19, 1999 at the Zuhrah Shrine Center. Everyone loved you and the feedback we got back was exceptional and, it was all about you.

We appreciated your traveling “all this way” and your ability to be flexible when our lunches got “just a little bit delayed.” Your part of the program was the highlight of the day. Many people have asked for your name and number, so, hopefully you will be getting more requests for programs.

Again, many many thanks and Good Luck to you in the future. i hope our paths cross again.

HENNEPIN TECHNICAL COLLEGE

Dear Karla,

Just wanted to say thank you again for doing such a tremendous presentation to the staff and faculty at Hennepin Technical College! During times of change and stress, your presentation on “If You’re Too Busy to Laugh, You’re Too Busy” was appropriate and enjoyable.

Your professionalism in your attitude, as well as your enthusiasm in your subject matter, made it a fun atmosphere where real learning occurred! Staff walked away with an improved mental state, commenting on how they wished more people could have heard you speak!

I have enclosed a tabulation of the evaluations you received from the staff. I also included the comments that were written. As you will see, you were overwhelmingly impressive to everyone.
Thank you again for sharing your message with us!

Sincerely,

Gini Beran
Staff Development Committee
